Album terakhir Maroon 5 itu dirilis pada tahun 2017 yang berjudul Red Pill Blues dan 2 tahun kemudian tepatnya tahun 2019, Maroon 5 merilis single terbaru mereka yang mengarah langsung ke album ketujuh mereka nantinya. Single terbaru ini berjudul Memories yang dirilis pada 20 September 2019 dan yang seperti kalian tahu, video musiknya dirilis pada 8 Oktober 2019 dan telah dilihat sebanyak 66 juta kali oleh pengguna di YouTube. Lagu ini berada diperingkat 11 pada chart US Billboard Hot 100 serta menempati peringkat 10 di chart UK Singles. Lagu ini memiliki cerita sendiri menurut sang vokalis, Adam Levine dan bahkan menurut dia ini adalah salah satu lagu berat yang ia ciptakan. Karena lagu ini dipersembahkan untuk sahabat dan mantan manajer bandnya, Jordan Feldstein yang pada Desember 2017 kemarin meninggal akibat gumpalan darah di kakinya. Dia wafat pada usia 40 tahun. Bagi kalian yang belum tahu, Jordan Feldstein adalah kakak aktor dan komedian asal Amerika Serikat, Jonah Hill.

Gitaris Maroon 5, James Valentine mengatakan bahwa ini adalah lagu yang berbeda bagi mereka apalagi mereka tidak pernah menulis seperti ini tapi ini juga adalah lagu yang sangat penting bagi mereka karena dalam beberapa tahun terakhir harus kehilangan manager mereka. Dan itu sangat berat bagi mereka semua. Bisa dikatakan ini adalah ungkapan duka serta kerinduan akan Jordan Feldstein yang telah meninggal. Saya secara pribadi merasa bahwa lagu ini tidak hanya ditujukan untuk satu orang saja tapi untuk semua orang yang mengalami situasi yang sama yaitu kehilangan orang dicintai karena kematian. Lagu ini bisa memberikan kekuatan dan sekaligus menyampaikan perasaan kita yang paling dalam karena rasa duka yang kita alami. Lagu yang sangat menyentuh hati! Inilah lirik lagunya!
